For Africans, finding a job is not the only motivation for irregular migration (UNDP 2019); working conditions and the search for decent work are central. Furthermore, difficult political and climatic conditions are also important factors. The Afro-barom- eter surveys confirm this perception of employment and institutional issues by Afri- cans (Afro-Barometer 2007).
